Damn You Leighton Meester...

For making Cobra Starship's latest single so addicting...

And for making me listen to your stupid leaked song over and over and over because it's just too damn infectious.

And for somehow becoming yet another idol...

Argh.

Scary how much a songs lyrics can strike a chord in you...

I was driving home from work last nite and listening to Lily Allen's "It's Not Me, It's You." I've listened to it countless times...but isn't it funny how you can hear a song sandwiched between others and never really listen and let the lyrics sink in.

Last nite..."I Could Say" totally hit a note in me...one that I haven't been able to fully grasp until last nite...when the words struck a huge chord in me and finally brought forth the final steps of closure.

Finally.

"I Could Say"
Lily Allen

I could say that I'll always be here for you,
But that would be a lie and quite a pointless thing to do.
I could says that I'll always have feelings for you,
But I've got a life ahead of me, I'm only 22,

Since you've gone I've lost a chip on my shoulder.
Since you've gone I feel like I've gotten older.
And now you've gone it feels as if the whole wide world is my stage.
And now you've gone it's like I've been let out of my cage.

You always made it clear that you hated my friends.
You made me feel so guilty when I was running around with them.
And everything was always about being cool,
And now I've come to realise there's nothing cool about you at all.

Since you've gone I've lost a chip on my shoulder.
Since you've gone I feel like I've gotten older.
And now you've gone it feels as if the whole wide world is my stage.
And now you've gone it's like I've been let out of my cage.

Thank you, Lily Allen. Thank you.
